National Doughnut Day Celebrated at Oxford Bank
Founded in 1938 by the Salvation Army for fundraising during the Great Depression, National Donut Day is now an annual tradition. Oxford Bank celebrated by offering our customers hundreds of donuts. During World War 1, doughnuts were served to soldiers - "doughboys" - by the Salvation Army. The tradition returned in 1938 for fundraising. This now now celebrates the doughnut itself. So, Oxford celebrated!
